Dinghy Section Prize Giving 17th October 2015
The Dinghy Section had a lovely prize giving evening, on Saturday and were pleased to welcome some new faces evening. Head Chef Andy laid on some super specials, the lasagne & chicken tikka masala being prize winners in their own right! Jonathan Watkins had collated pictures of the years sailing to entertain us.
Worthy of special mention amongst the many trophy winners was the awarding of the Abate Trophy to Malcolm Pye for all his work in coordinating, organizing and executing the working parties.
Thank you Malcolm for all your time & effort coordinating the working parties, and all your hard work building racks, rigging boats, cleaning, reaping & rebuilding pontoons safety boats etc. Due to his holiday the Abate Trophy was presented to Malcom at a weekday working party!
Peter and Suzy Harrison generously presented a new trophy the Clancy Cup to the club in memory of Pete’s father George Harrison. It is a handsome silver tankard mounted on a wooden stand kindly made by Dave Thompson and awarded to the first asymmetric boat in a summer series. Pete and Suzy presented it to Alistair and Manu Jenkin. Clancy was the name of Pete’s first family boat.
