Cruise to Newtown Creek, 24th-26th September
A CYC cruise to Newtown Creek was always going to be special and we were treated to exceptionally good weather for our adventures ashore. Our fleet of nine boats arrived after either a drift with the tide from Yarmouth or a beat against a Westerly. We rendezvoused at anchor or moored on buoys.

Following the fab Folly/Cowes Cruise, Kerry Dancer enjoyed swimming off the beach then explored the old town and read about its ancient history. We picked sloes, walked, ran and rowed. And, of course, we enjoyed the company of our cruising pals for a remarkable lunch at the New Inn. Our food was great and the staff were most attentive too. This was all the more wonderful because, like many other places, the New Inn had been struggling to secure a permanent chef. The New Inn seems to be back in business for future cruises!

What a lovely way to finish the season. Huge thanks to Chris Lane on Lowenna who must have worked some kind of magic to conjure up the weather and a venue for lunch against the odds.
