Don’t miss our talk: ‘Husband Overboard!’ on Sunday 10th March at 10.30am
Chris and Juliette Elfes own a 26-year-old Southerly 100, are based at Poole Yacht Club and regularly sail in the Solent, Channel Isles and Northern Brittany.
They will be visiting CYC to talk about what happened when Chris was knocked overboard off the coast of France, leaving Juliette in sole charge, and what we can learn from it.
They will focus on four areas:
- Prevent (What could have been done to avoid the situation?)
- Immediate Response (How did people react to the situation?)
- Recovery (How was the casualty recovered?)
- Aftercare (What happened next?)
The audience will be encouraged to participate and think about what they hear so that they can adapt the advice to their own sailing.
Coffee from 10am, talk starts at 10.30am.
